Notre Dame Iron Sharpens Iron

Iron Sharpens Iron is a vibrant student-led Christian fellowship serving the University of Notre Dame community in Notre Dame, Indiana, alongside Saint Mary's College and Holy Cross College. As an interdenominational organization affiliated with Campus Ministry, ISI provides comprehensive spiritual programming designed to deepen students' faith and foster meaningful Christian community on campus.

The organization offers a diverse range of activities and events tailored to meet students at various stages of their spiritual journey. The cornerstone of ISI's programming is the weekly Thursday night gathering, held from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM in the Coleman-Morse Lounge, featuring corporate worship, student-led talks, and dedicated time for reflection and prayer. Beyond these weekly meetings, ISI hosts Sunday Nights of Worship (SNoW), intimate small group discussions, prayer services, and spiritual retreats held each semester for community renewal and personal growth.

ISI extends its impact beyond campus through service projects in the South Bend community, demonstrating a commitment to Gospel-centered action. The organization also cultivates community bonds through social events including potlucks, Notre Dame game watches, and recreational activities like ice-skating excursions. For first-year students, ISI offers Freshmen of God (FOG), a welcoming program designed to help new students connect with peers who share their faith commitments.

Rooted in the biblical principle of Proverbs 27:17—"As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another"—ISI believes that diverse backgrounds and perspectives strengthen individual faith. The organization's central focus remains Jesus Christ and the narrative of His grace, creating a gathering point where students can center their lives on God's transformative work through Christ's life, death, and resurrection.
