About Longhorns for Christ

Longhorns for Christ is a dynamic Christian campus ministry serving the University of Texas at Austin community through comprehensive spiritual formation and discipleship programs. Based in Austin, TX, the organization offers multiple pathways for students to deepen their faith and build meaningful connections with others who share their beliefs.

The ministry provides weekly worship gatherings every Sunday at 7pm, featuring contemporary praise music, biblical teaching, and communion. These services create a foundation for spiritual growth and corporate worship experiences. Beyond Sunday gatherings, Longhorns for Christ facilitates Life Groups—student-led small group Bible studies designed to foster community, prayer, and spiritual development in an intimate setting. For those seeking one-on-one spiritual mentorship, the Church of Two program pairs students for weekly discipleship meetings focused on shared life experiences, prayer, and personal growth.

The organization emphasizes spiritual practices and biblical education through multiple teaching formats, including sermon series on topics like "Life in the Spirit," "Cloud of Witnesses," and "BE REAL." These teachings address contemporary spiritual challenges including fear, peace, freedom, prayer, and relationships. Longhorns for Christ also organizes transformative experiences such as Port-a Getaway, a winter retreat in Port Aransas offering extended worship, spiritual practices, and community building before the spring semester.

For students interested in global ministry, the organization coordinates summer missions opportunities through Let's Start Talking teams, enabling six-week international service experiences focused on relationship building and faith sharing. Led by experienced campus ministers including Executive Director Cary McCall and Worship Director James Lavender, Longhorns for Christ combines professional ministry leadership with student-centered programming.
